We have some great news for you today…

This time it's about custom fields πŸ₯³

As you know, our CRM provides you with several default fields:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Company Name
  • Website Address
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • City
  • State
  • ZIP Code
  • Country…

These are common fields that are included by default in our CRM. This means you can collect all sorts of information about your contacts, whether they are mere leads or long-term customers.

You can also create custom fields, in the dedicated “Custom Fields” section located in the “Contacts” menu.

Well, the good news is that you can now:

  • Choose between different types of custom fields
  • Choose whether the custom field is required or not
  • Create sections for your custom fields

New Section

Custom Field Sections

First, let's talk about sections… When you create a new custom field, you can choose to place it in the “Contact Info” section, “Location Info” section or “Custom Fields” section, which are all default sections.

Also, you now have the option to create new sections, as you can see on the right.

For example, you could create a “Shopping Info” section, where you would add custom fields specific to your e-commerce. This is just an example, you are only limited by your imagination.

The section(s) you create will then show on the contact page in the CRM. Please note that empty sections are hidden by default.

Custom Field Types

Now let's talk about custom field types… Until now, you could only have one type of custom field.

You can now create different types of custom fields, as you can see below.

Here are the different types of custom fields you can create:

New Type

  • Single-line text
  • Multi-line text
  • Number
  • Drop-down select
  • Drop-down multi-select
  • Date time picker
  • Radio select
  • File
  • Checkbox select
  • URL
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Platform.ly user

As you can see, custom fields are now fully customizable. Possibilities are (almost) endless πŸ˜‰

For example, you could create a “Dropdown multi-select” custom field and add multiple values, as shown in the screenshot below:

Field Options

You can also create a “File” custom field, so you can ask your contacts (or future contacts) to upload a file, which will then be accessible from the CRM. You can also use this field to upload quotes, invoices…

Custom Fields

This makes custom fields a lot more powerful and adds a lot of flexibility to our CRM, meaning you can fully customize your contact pages.

You can now collect all sorts of information about your contacts, and then use it in your broadcasts, email sequences and so on.

We have also improved the “Custom Fields” table (in the “Custom Fields” section), so you can see the “Field Type”, “Section” it's in and whether it's a required field or not, in the blink of an eye… without having to open the custom field settings.

Custom Fields Table

These new custom fields can of course be used in automation. They are accessible from the automation builder, where they can be used as triggers or conditions… Their value can be updated too:

They are also available in webhooks and via API, meaning they can be used and modified over there.
